Door slamming

My wife is always slamming the right door on my 75 to close it, and it is driving me crazy.
I found that if I open a window she does not have to slam the door to close it.
I have seen vents in the backs of the cabs in newer trucks.
Is there one in mine that I can not find. Or what did chevy do to eliminate the pressure build up on these trucks.
Does any one have a suggestion for a fix.

The inside vents are the louvered areas located at the bottom of the either door. Inside the door is a plastic piece with flexible baffles.  On the back side of the door, outside the sealing surface for the door seal, are louvers for the air to exit out.

You might check to make sure these vents  aren't plugged up or covered and the baffles are still flexible.

EDIT:   Aftermarket door seals with improper fit, aftermarket doors with improper fit or poorly adjusted door or strikers might also be a culprit.

I had this issue and fixed it by adjusting the door striker bolt. Use a pair of vise grips and just turn to loosen and you can move it up and down as needed. Really simple fix in my case.

Also replacing the striker bolt nylon sleeve might help ... which might not be sold separately, I mean, you might have to buy the whole bolt.

You can get just the nylon bushing at just about any auto parts store.

I tried everything except the door vents, I did not know they were inside there.

I know this is going sound silly but I cut a short piece of leftover pex plumbing pipe , slit it and popped it over where bushing is supposed to be on striker and doors shut better. I have had 3 trucks of my own I installed them on and it worked also made some for several friends with same results , you might try it.

I used to have to drop-kick my doors, new bushings and pins helped. But the real culprit was the striker and nylon bushing. After a little shimming of the hinges and the new strikers and bushings, they close like they did at the dealer in 1977! Amazingly perfect.

Hello again
I pulled the door panels and there are no baffles in there, just the vents
The door hinges and bushings are like new. And I replaced the striker bolts after reading one of these forums.
The door seals are from Steele Rubber and are about a year old, I tried taking a  piece of paper and closing it on the seals to see if the door is too tight at any point, and there no excessive pressure. When I figure this out, I'll let you know.

Steele rubber products are great quality. You shouldn't have any problems with them.

This sounds silly, but if you try to close the door with the window down, even part way do you have the same issue?

New vehicles are pretty air tight, big difference on the amount of force you need to close a door with all windows shut vs. open.

Whenever i close the door in my 77 i crack a window an inch, and close nice and delicately. But more force is needed when all windows are shut.

I know some people that wind up and use their whole body motion and the full swing and weight of the door to close it.

Anyone that closes a squarebody like that should be put in front of a firing squad.

i know how much force i need to shut my door. the wife on the other hand thinks if it doesnt shut like a new door she must slam it, so when we're getting ready to go i either open my door first and wait for her to shut her door or ill shut my door and roll down/crack the window before she can get in.

Wow irish, i do that too!! Lol,,,sometimes i will be all gentelmanly, and open her door for her and close it properly, nice and gentle. But she knows what i'm really doing. Lol
