bed swap
« on: August 19, 2005, 10:28:00 pm »
I was wondering if anyone would know about swapping a late model (88-98)  stepside bed onto an '84 K10. I have seen one truck like this in passing and it looked pretty slick. I know where I can get the late model bed easy. Just wondering on what kind of modifications I would have to do.

Haven't done it (don't really like it since the body/fenderlines don't match) but it will require some sort of modification as to mounting it as the newer ones bolt from the bottom up.

I will probably leave it as it is and find another bed or at least bed parts. The wife didn't like the idea of the late model bed on the older model truck either. Just thouht I would throw the idea out there and see what others had to say.

I want to do this exact bed swap.  My only problem is locating a decent bed.  Any suggestions other than combing the local pick n' pull?  Thanks for any info.

A buddy of mine was selling one recently but it was in Birmingham Alabama.  If you are looking for parts, please post it as a WTB in the parts forum.
