Can I rule out a bad turn signal switch? ('79 C10)
« on: March 14, 2016, 02:18:01 pm »
Howdy folks,

I've been battling a left signal issue for about 2 weeks now.  I've looked at schematics,The bulbs, the grounds, etc.  When I throw my left signal, the REAR works perfect.  The front however does not.  It will work with 4ways no problem.  I've been told this is a ground issue but cannot find any bad grounds.  The signal and side market are not working.

Today I'm going to replace the socket assembly of the turn signal;  as a last ditch effort before tearing into the steering column.

On a side note, when I originally purchased the truck.  The Left REAR did not work either.  This was caused by one of those Walmart LEDS, I switched back to a regular bulb and the REAR signal works fine.  My front bulbs are good however.  s.o.s

Thanks

I've had switches go bad exactly as you describe.  I've switched steering columns before to find out the column I just put in, the switch was bad...
