87-91 R/V OEM rear step bumpers?

What was the OEM rear step bumper on the 87-91 R/V trucks from the factory? did the factory or dealerships use the rear step bumpers off the 88-98 C/K series trucks? My 88 crew has the 88-98 C/K rear step bumper as you can see in the photos and i was wondering if anyone else has encountered this or has info on this.

That ain't factory haha. Should be the standard square shaped rear step. Like this I think.

Yes, either in chrome or silver was the correct rear step for the square body.

what about as a dealer option? as far as my research has told me a significant number of our square body trucks left the factory with no rear bumper, correct?

Yes they did.  Some dealers had local places emboss their dealership name in home made and some put other aftermarket styles on them.  They did use the next generation like yours that wasn't as wide.

did all the square body trucks have the licence plate bracket on the rear drivers side underside of the bed? or just those without a factory bumper?

Either the truck came with a bumper or the bracket if no bumper was ordered.
