the 67-68 front end has a slant to it where the 69-72 front end has a more straight up style to it.. the 68 fenders will only work if you change to the 67-68 radiator core support, fenders, hood, and grille...

hard... it can be done but it's not going to be a simple overnight job by any means. you would basically have to build the thing from scratch. i believe but dont quote me on it, that the cross bracing in the metal floor beds are different from the wood floor beds. im also pretty sure that someone offers complete bed floors for long bed 67-72 models (which can just be cut down to fit short beds) if not then it was a half bed floor... might have been brothers truck parts or  , cant remember though. i have seen guys cut the floor out of latemodel beds and use them too, fairly easy to come across a junkyard donor that has been nasty bed sides but good floor left. but if wood is what you want, anything is possible just dont be affraid to get in there and cut and weld if you have to replace those cross braces, do some looking around though you might be able to use the stock ones...

It isn't that hard.  Mar-K supplies all that is needed to convert one to a wood bed.  Wood in the bed was an option on trucks from 1967 - 1987, so it is just a matter of getting the right pieces.

www.mar-k.com/steel_floor...d_bed.html

However, I have 1967-72 Fleetside / Wideside Pickup Steel Bed Floor Patch, measures 48" long x 16" high that cost $27.95 + shipping.

the first thing im gonna do is check with my uncle who bought a 67 and made a grain truck out of it so he still has the bed some were. and if i buy patch panels all the cross sills under the floor are rotted horribly to so i think i will tear it all out and put a nice wood bed in.

BTW, I have the longbed cross sills also..

I do like the look of a wood bed though.

i like the wood bed to, i think i might go ahead and buy patches and crosssills for my steel bed if my uncle doesnt have that bed anymore. i cant really afford a wood bed conversion right now. ill order them longbedd cross sills and patch panels from you if my uncle dont have that bed anymore.

roundedline, could you possibly get 2 longbed bedside for my 69. or do you think it would be cheaper to get a whole bed from arizona or somewere because my bedfloor is shot to. i wish they made a whole bed floor replacement like the 73-87 style. and also will the 68 fenders bolt to the 69 core support or do i have to change core supports.

in order to put any front clip part from a 67-68 model onto a 69-72 model, you will have to convert the whole front clip, i.e. hood, grille, fenders, and core support

My supplier doesn't offer Long bedside replacements.  I currently don't know of one that does.

Don,
From what I understand he wants the complete bedside for a longbed.  I don't know of a supplier providing that.  I have patch panels for 47-up trucks, just not complete bedsides for longbeds.
