Column Shifter Indicator
« on: April 10, 2016, 04:10:49 pm »
Folks...hoping someone has run into this before...working on my 78 C10 and the gear selector indicator in the panel hadn't been working...actually since I bought it. Today I pulled the dash to do a few things and expected the cable or some other item to be broken or missing....but no. The piece that's broken is the real thin plastic collar on the column for which the cable attaches. I see this doesn't seem to be an "available" item like the other gear selector indicator parts...so what can one do to repair this....it appears even "if" I can find a collar the while column has to come apart to install it.

Any thoughts?

Yes, the column has to come apart to replace the collar.
Depending how it broke, you may be able to epoxy it back together?
