Does the stutter occur only while accelerating or will it occur with steady throttle as well?

Lift the distributor cap and inspect for a chaffed primary wire rubbing against the breaker plate or housing.  Also, give the primary lead a gentle tug to see if it stretches or separates.

it will happen at a steady throttle too. Happens mostly when its colder outside even after warming up sometimes

heres a pic. That lower wire is wrinkled a bit. Ive never taken the time to look into how a distributor works and know very little about it so i dont know which one is the primary wire

The primary wire connects the points to the ignition coil.  It's the 'wrinkled wire' in the image.  In itself, the wrinkling is not significant.  Look inside the distributor cap for any evidence of condensation, cracks or carbon tracking.  Carbon tracks are black soot residue left by high voltage repeatedly arcing across a surface.  Typically carbon tracks are irregular in shape with a pattern reminiscent of lightning.  When did the engine last have a complete tune-up?
