17" fitment ques
« on: May 13, 2016, 02:30:51 pm »
Im going to run window type 17 inch rims something simple. Its a 84 stepside lowered 3/4 i believe. Would 17x8 4" BS and 17x9 4.5" BS in rear fit. Im sure the front will be fine my ques is for rear with the 4.5 backspacing since ive read around that 9in wheels should have 5in back spacing. Please advise thanks.

I used to have 17 x 9 s with 5 inch backspace and I really didn't like the way it looked

What was the reason why you didn't like the look? And with 4.5 BS would that mean it would move .5 inch closers to fender?

On my stepside, I still had a 1 1/4" space between the tire and fender lip.

Bad angle, but my new wheels give me a wider track. This is with the old soft 8's
