Hello from Colorado
«

Hello everyone,
I am brand new to this forum.
I live outside of Denver Colorado and I have a 1986 GMC C10 with a 454 in it. "There is no replacement for displacement!!!"
My daily driver is an '06 2500 with the LBZ...
The truck is in pretty good shape as it sits right now. I bought the truck about 5 years ago and have done very little to it other than joy ride in it!
I am starting to get serious about planning some overhaul work and will be scrolling through all the information on the site and hollering for help from time to time I am sure of it!
Here are a few shots of my ride...
My boys love riding in the Red Truck!!!
Moving from TX to CO a couple of years ago...
Anyways, thanks for adding me to the forum!

Welcome from central California. Nice truck. I'm also pretty familiar with the Duramax diesels. I've worked on lots of them.

I didn't have any problems with the C10, but I've had a few with my Comanche. What problems are you having?

Well for starters, it has a 454 instead of the 305 that it came equipped with. I can get the state inspector to fill out the motor swap form but first I have to get the AIR (smog pump) system installed.
I bought this truck in its current condition in Texas where that stuff isn't required.
Right now I am trying to figure out how to get the AIR system back on it as cost effectively as possible. I think I am going to start checking out pick a part yards and see if I can find a complete system in something. I think I can probably get away with that for less than $50. Looking at buying all the parts online, I added it up to over $250 and that wasn't including the pump bracket itself that I found on one webpage for like $80...that is $300+ that could go toward a new intake manifold or wiring harness or......a lot of cool stuff!!!!
Until I get it on I cant even take the emissions sniff test because I won't pass the equipment test. It is really annoying but oh well!

Definitely a pain!!!
There's a few trucks at the u pull it yards. If you go to their websites, most have a list of what's in the yard
Locally there's
LKQ (one in aurora and one in Denver)
U pull & pay (one in aurora and one in Denver)
Littleton u pull ( south Sante fe)
Colorado auto parts (englewood)
Try Craigslist, might be able to get it all cheap there.
If all that fails, call Chevy truck parts in Hudson. The have 30 or so squarebodies on the property.

Littleton u pull, just put an 85 c20 in their lot yesterday. It's a bit of a drive but chances are it hasn't been stripped clean yet.

Wow, that's awesome, thank you for your help! While Littleton is far from home, it's kinda close to work and I drive by there on the way home. I work in Lone Tree. I'm going to load up a few extra tools this morning and swing by there on the way home this afternoon. Who knows what else I might find!

And how did you know they just put it in their yard? I haven't looked at their website before this morning and I didn't see where they put a "on the lot" day. I'm just curious. They also have a c10 and a k10. I might find a few other things I've been needing

For the Littleton U Pull, if u go to their Facebook page it shows what they put in each day.
LKQ's website lists the vehicles each day.
