Hello from Alberta
« on: June 28, 2016, 11:52:41 pm »
I used to be part of this page like 10 years ago but then left when I went to college and life got busy. But now I'm set up and ready to work on a project again. I still have my 78 chev 2wd that I had way back when, but I am now on the search for a clean 4x4 frame for a rolling chassis. I would like to put the body of my 2wd onto a 4x4 frame, and drop an basic ls motor in it, and have a nice driver.

I was wondering what internet sites are common for the states to look for a truck down in the states that would have a fairly rust free frame or whole donor truck. I'm starting to use craigslist and ebay, but was wondering if there are other hidden sites for the Montana, Idaho, Oregon.

use searchtempest.com it will search craiglist but will allow you to search a radius from a given zip code

welcome from North West Alabama. We have some pretty clean trucks down here. Ive bought a few with no rust at all (honestly i was lucky) if you watch what your doing you can usually find one with minor rust in the inner rockers and cab corners. ALWAYS check and make sure the cowl panel and fire wall seam is good.

I just picked up an 86 here and it is dang near rust free. Frame is solid.

As you can see the tires are shot. Will the factory aluminum rims off of a 2005 duramax fit or is there a hub diameter issue?
