Brake caliper bracket/dust shield

I'm wondering if anyone else ever ran into this, I'm sure they have...my dust shields are pretty well rotted and I have not been able to find replacements anywhere yet. You guys think it would be okay to run them or run them until I can find replacements? I don't plan on mudding with this truck or anything like that.

My buddy has no dust shields on his truck, his dad took them off in the late 80's or early 90's. He has a 79' K20, has never had a single issue with anything. I wouldn't worry to much about putting them back on if you don't want too. I even considered removing mine next time I do brakes.

I have seen vehicles that come from the factory without any dust shields on them. You should be perfectly fine.

I just pulled apart my front axel and mine are rust away completely i was gonna ask the same question. Glad to know can run without em
