i sm actually looking for the part with the arrow on my new photo.
but i have found an other way - look to the other photo - i asume
it is also from the forum here.

my other question is - both photos (cars) have an air filter
which is smaller then my air filter (look to the photo in thread begin)

maybe the reason is a other type of machine (454)

Your picture with the arrow is called the snorkel or air intake duct. The other solution picture you posted could work too. Getting the factory snorkel shouldn't be hard tho, the used ones are cheap and some companies sell new ones that are also cheap.

Also, your other solution photo has the correct air filter housing for your 79 suburban. The one you have now with the larger filter is from an 1980s model truck.

but I currently have to find out a lot regarding my sub79.

so i hadn`t enough space in my brain
to get it by myself ^^

1980 air filter ... so easy.
