oil pressure gauge

I've had issues with the oil pressure gauge in my 85 k10 for as far as I can remember.  It used to work sometimes IF i recall correctly, but hasn't read anything at all in quite some time.  Where could i start looking?  I don't really want to tear my cluster off,  plus I'm thinking the issue is probably with the switch, or line, or whatever these trucks have, because all of my previous gauge issues in the past have been and want to tear it out, last.

0psi nothing or nailed nothing?

it just reads 0 on the gauge.  i dont believe its stuck.

What happens when you unplug the wire from the oil sender?

A few days ago I pulled off the dash trim, and then the clear gauge covering.  After that removing the gauges is pretty simple.  Once you remove the bolts they just slip right out - no wires, just "plug in" to the dash. 

I cleaned all the contacts on gauges and dash, added some electric grease (and replaced the burned out dash bulbs while at it).  To my surprise, my oil and volt meter both started working properly, AND my gas gauge no longer goes WAY past full but to where it should go.

Maybe a 2-3 hour job and well worth trying.
