Cab marker lights

Looking to install the 5 marker lights on top of the cab of my truck. I just like the look of it really. As my truck does not have them originally, it will involve drilling holes & running new wires along with making sure everything is water tight. Looking for tips or tricks from anyone who has done this before. Thanks in advance.

I have often thought about doing this install on my C20 when I get it done.  It doesn't appear to be too difficult if you lay out and cut the holes in the correct place.  Ebay offers LED sets fairly reasonable and looks period correct.  Waiting for someone to journal the install.  1st. picture is a 1984 Cab and chassis truck I had and sold but the second is in a slow restoration currently

Marking the holes and drilling do they look even is probably the most difficult part. But running the wires is a little hard too. Ince I drill the first hole I stick a coat hanger down so I can snag the wires by the foot panel vent. To get to each separate hole I do the same thing. Actually probably only twice depends on how long and well you can feed the coat hanger. in

it looks like you have a visor on yours already. my buddy put a visor with the lights in it on his k30 crewcab, he ended up removing the clearance lights and keeping the visor lights. i want to say the visor blocked the clearance lights. since you have a visor you could just swap it out with one that has lights and not drill any more holes (minus the power wire)

I did this on my C20 years ago along with a visor. I have since day removed the visor and the lights are going to be gone soon as well. I'm going for a different look than I intended years ago. I did it in an afternoon and I haven't had a single leak.

Great info so far. I didn't think about the visor blocking the lights so yea I may go with the lights on the front of the visor then.

So does anyone know of aftermarket lights I can install on the current visor that sit flush?

theres some "button" leds that we use all the time theyre about 3/4" round. whats cool is most time they dont stick out and catch your eye unless theyre on or on a light color kind of like these

Those r kinda neat for the moon visor but I'm not crazy about the red. The ones I was looking at were  dark smoke lens w orange LEDs

yeah you dont want red anyway looking forward. ill have to check out my buddys. i know he put leds in his but not sure what style. i know it used to be one that had light in them already but i think he changed them out and did a little fiber glass work

Ok thanks. Yea I saw some on eBay that were smoked lenses but being mounted on the cab behind the moon visor they may b obstructed. I don't mind doing a little fiberglass work if I have to
