tail lights

i have a '79 C10 fleetside longbed and need help to figure out why my taillights dont sit flush with the bed? i cant see anything specifically wrong, i have pics of the problem i just dont know how to upload photos. so i just need some answers of whatever you guys think would be wrond with the tail lights, or the mounting bracket?

Has it ever been wrecked?  Had the bedsides replaced?
Depending on how "bad" they are fitting it could be normal since these were still considered "trucks" back then.

If they are GM tailights, it will be the mouting tabs.

thanks im planning on buying new taillights and if that doesnt do anything then ill look at the mounting tabs, because the ones i have now are broken anywayz
