Steering arm cone washer Question/ problem
« on: September 28, 2016, 03:21:54 pm »
I just installed a 4" lift steering arm (Rough Country) on my k10 but the cone washers don't seat as deep as the originals did. Originally they sat about 1/16" high now they're a good 3/16" above the arm. I thought maybe torquing the nuts down would sink them deeper into the arm but that didn't happen.
Could it be the cone in the arm wasn't machined deep enough? Is this unusual? or should I pull it apart and start over?
Thanks

Mine are the same way with the raised steering arm. Been there for many years.

If your worried re-torque them and you should be fine.

You can also take a nut off one at a time and use a deep socket over the stud and tap them  down a little just to make sure and re- install the nut.
