Wheel Size for 33 inch Tires on '78 K20
« on: October 26, 2016, 09:21:01 am »
From what I've read, my '78 K20 with a stock suspension should handle 33 inch tires.

I have 4.10 gears and a TH400 and do very little off-road, so this is as big as I want to go.

I've been looking at tire/wheel combinations on the internet and I'm not still not decided on what size wheels look best and provide the best function. 17? 18? 20?

Any thoughts? (I realize it will come down to personal choice--but still interested.)

My brother had a 78 and he ran 15x12s with 33s on a stock suspension with rancho shocks and he had no issues. Just make sure you get the right offset and dont get cheap heavy wheels or tires. On my 14 z71 I run stock 20s with nitto terra grapplers 35" and I can not believe how well these tires handle and look great for the price. I think you should go with the 17s and 280 70 17 nittos. Great light combo and will look great on that truck.

285/75/16 (33/11.2/R16) is the tires on my truck on the stock rims. I rub a little on the tie rode on my v3500
