Cab mounts

I think I want to replace the cab mounts in my 1980 K10.  Why not, they're obviously old as dirt, and I love the truck.  Are they all the same, some better than others?  Any links?  Summit racing, or should I just order them from the local parts store?  Thanks!

We got Energy Suspension polyurethane mounts. In our case we bought a complete set that included cab mounts, spring bushings, sway bar bushings, and a few other things. It was a very complete kit. I did order more grease for the bushings, there isn't enough in the kit in my opinion. That was my only complaint about it. The cab is very solid and the suspension is squeak free and works nicely on the new bushings. I think it was binding before.

The only other problem we encountered was reusing the steel caps for the body mounts. 4 of the 6 were rusted through. I ordered 6 new ones and through the rubber away. It's not their fault, but be aware they expect you to reuse the steel. The nuts for the cab mounts are captured where you can't access them. They may bust loose when you try to remove the bolts. You'll have to cut holes in the floor or behind the seat if that happens.

I used the Energy suspension polyurethane bushings and it fixed more problems than I expected.  My cab had settled so much on the old rubber that the cab was sitting right on top of the transfer case and really transmitting vibration.  When I started it up after installing new bushings I initially thought something was wrong with the engine because the cab was so much quieter when it was up off the transfer case.   

The cab height change  from new bushings also realigned my TH350 shifter linkage so that it now starts in both neutral and park.  Prior to that I could never get the switch adjusted right.

One caveat - you need to lubricate these bushings before installation, and even then they may squeak/creak as you go over bumps.  The creaking noise seemed to go down as they aged and the cab settled in.

The squeaking is why I use P-S-T.  Never had them squeak.
