Lift kit check list
This is for the K3500 with a Diesel motor. Diesels need to add skyjackers
flc140
4" Softride Front Fitted Leafs add
$126.71
. if you have a no a gas with a dana 44 or 10 bolt just take the fitted leafs off and the raised steering block off and add $60 and add 20 to the brake lines
front Springs
4" lift from skyjacker (just front springs), rear blocks and C140C
$477.68
Shocks
$104
Hardware (u bolts)
included skyjacker's kit
$0.00
Something to fix steering (pitman arm or raised steering block)
from Rough Country
$53 for Dana 60 or $60 for 10 bolt or dana 44
Brake lines
they can be had for
$28.26
for the front and just reuse the rear
Swaybar drop
(have them) but
$35.95
Steering Stabilizer
(not getting one)
Total
$670ish
vs buying a "kit" from skyjacker for $968.89+.
or get the rough country blocks, u bolts, shocks and steering block for $315.60+skyjackers spring for $333.86= $649.46 then buy brake hoses +$28.26
and i dont even want to say rough country cause you can buy all springs and in their kit for $770 for 6" or the kit that ive listed in 6" for $469. but as someone whos had rough country i wont buy their springs again cause im older and my spine isnt any younger
So ½ and ¾ tons you could spend
$690
for the parts dana 60 youre looking at
$662
.
and in skyjackers words " If you have a lot of weight compared to what the original vehicle would have been then you will need to add a fitted leaf to the leaf spring to compensate for the additional weight." so add
$126.71
if you have a big motor.
now if you have a dana 60 and want rough country shocks get their kit with just the skyjacker springs it will cost you $10 more. RC kit is $315.60+ Skys leafs $333.86+brake lines $28.26= $677.72.

Front you can move the front hanger OR switch the support sides, Drill the frame out and relocate the rear hanger and run rear 52" springs.
Rear: run a FRONT 2WD hanger on the back with the shackle.

i totally forgot about running a 52" up front. do we have a write up? found this one but if we have one the better
nice write up
http://ck5.com/forums/resources/52-front-spring-swap.34/
this gives you about 4"+flex and moves the axle forward about 1". but not sure what it does for ride quality

SHOCKS
RANCHO RS5000
$204
or the cheaper shocks
some have found you can use other vehicles stock shocks to fit our trucks with a 2-4" lift
example, if you click on those rancho shocks you will see these measurments
RAISED HEIGHT: 2.5-4 inches
FRONT COMPRESSED: 13.25
FRONT EXTENDED: 21.125
FRONT TRAVEL: 7.875
REAR COMPRESSED: 18.94
REAR EXTENDED: 32.54
REAR TRAVEL: 13.6
Front
so lets start with the front need to find a shock compressed is around 13.25 and extended is 21.125
dont know why but the first thing i thought of is our rear stock shocks seam to be about that size
Click here for O'reilly's rear shocks for the 1984 c30
Monroe part #32384
Extended Length (In): 23-1/8 Inch
Compressed Length (In): 14 Inch
$26/each
now i know its not 13.25" but these are good for 2"-4" so it doesnt need to be that small and its only .75"
Monroe on ebay
$39.99 set
Autozone
Gabriel Guardian 81174
$21.99/each
Gabriel ProGuard 61682
$25.99/each
Rear
now for the rear
18.94 compressed to 32.54 extended
this took me a little while to find but after looking at a few vehicles ive found (i hate to say this) but 2005 f350 superduty 4x4 srw rear shocks has these measurements almost(now be careful cause apparently the f350 has a couple different sized it could be)
Click here for O'reilly's rear shocks for the 2005 Ford F-350 Super Duty
Monroe part #32359
Extended Length (In): 31 Inch
Compressed Length (In): 18 Inch
so its off by 1.5"ext.
$26/each
Ebay shocks
lifetime warrenty $34.65 a set. thats $17.33/each
autozone
Gabriel ProGuard
$25.99/each
ok so if we go with the store band or their cheapest youre looking at $104 vs $204 but we havnt even looked for the cheapest yet or other brands you can get for the same amount
front
KYB-Shock-Absorber-344366-Rear-Pair-2
for $52
for the rear
KYB 344419 Excel-G (x2)
$48.60
now by time you read these, they may no longer be available. but you can use the part numbers to find them. just use those O'reilly links in green and find the shock part number then search ebay

Brake hose
OEM
for the dana 60
Right side 19.5"
Left side 19.5"
ORD brake hose "kit"
Vehicle Year Front Caliper Year/Make Lift Height Part # Front Line Length Rear Line Length Banjo Bolt Size Price
'77-'87 GM Dana 44, 10 bolt Dana 60 3"-6" GU30011 25" 18" 10 mm
for $110
OR
change your year to a 2wd and it should have the same calipers (little know fact dana 60 calipers are also used on the c30)
Front left 23"
$16.99
Front right 23.125"
$17.99
the rear size is 14.5 the ext. line is 18" so for 3.5" and thats for the 6" kit and im only using 3.5" blocks so its a difference in 2.5". new lines for 1.5"
im going to keep my oem one
OK after using the info enaberif posted about brakes lines ive done some digging to find out what fits what as far as brake lines and shocks. With the brake lines youre going to want to get one from a 2wd and some 4wd but they come with brackets on them. Youre going to have to cut the bracket off carefully. Might be able to pry it off but be careful not to damage the hose
if you have a 73-78 with the 7/16 banjo bolt you want
36760
for the left front. This comes stock on a 73-78 C30 $14.85
36759
for the right front. This comes stock on a 73-78 C30 $14.85
78+ have a 10mm banjo bolt
if you have a 78-91 K1500 or K2500
38622
for the left front. This comes stock on a 94 K2500 8600lbs $20.25
38623

rough country kit
«
Reply #8 on:

ok talked to rough country and they wont just sell parts unless youve bought a kit from them. well lucky me i got one years ago(but they didnt verify anything). so i was still planning on using skyjackers front springs $333.86 if you add their kit for 315.60 it will be $649.46
The front ubolts and bolts are $59.95
The rear ubolts are $29.95
Blocks would be $47.95
The front steering block is $52.95
The shocks are $39.95 each ($159.80)
so you can buy shocks for $26/each napa brand (total $104) or $40 rough country (total $159.80). BUT if you order their "kit" its only
$315.60
so they take $35 off their kit which separate would cost $350.60. So if you buy napa shocks youre only saving $45 but the kit will save you $35. so youre only saving $10 for napa shocks vs ones made for the lift

I bought zone offroad front springs from ok4wd.com and paid $189.81 shipped instead of nearly $500. they do 5% off for new customers and free shipping. Also that came with the busings for the leaf springs.

Wow, yeah their website has totally changed and i cant find them on there anymore either. I ordered them on 5/23/17.
The part # is C0401.
http://zoneoffroad.com/zone-offroad-products-suspension-leaf-spring-chevy-gmc-blazer-jimmy-pickup-suburban/c0401
They ride great, but i also did a sway bar drop kit, new steering stabilizer, replaced the swaybar bushings, shackle bushings and new leaf spring bushings at the same time.
Leaf springs came with new bushings and the shocks are only a few years old.
I've got blocks on the rear but I just ordered the Offroad Design shackle hangers so i can remove the blocks. That's supposed to improve ride quality as well.
