« on: December 20, 2006, 01:24:00 am »
I baught a 73 short wide 2wd and the cab ended up haveing alot of rust then I came across an 86 that has a mint cab doors front clip with one bad fender but the rest of the front clip is perfect and it was missing the bed but the truck at some time had been hit hard in the driver side front fender and the frame is shoved over about 3inches so I decided to put the cab and and the front clip on the 73 frame and know my question is has anyone else done this beore because I cant get the dashlights and taillights and headlights to work and I have all of the grounds hooked up and all of the fuses are good im sure its some thing small that im over looking but any help would be appreciated thanks

Does anything work? Do you have the wires on the starter hooked up? Is the Headlight switch grounded? grounds on the engine to firewall, engine to frame, frame to battery, core support to frame.

Something else you might try, Take a test light and see if there is power in the fuse box. Remove the harness at the back of the headlight switch and test for 12V there. There is fuseable links down by the starter in the wires that go to the fuse box, If they are bad no power to anything.
