Dash pad clips
« on: January 23, 2017, 03:15:46 pm »
Is this the way the dash clips connect to the metal dash structure?

I'm missing one of the dash pad clips.  I bought the dash pad off this site and it says to reuse the original dash clips so I guess buying an aftermarket clip won't work?

You have the clip installed correctly.  Aftermarket clips will work fine.  The instructions are to reuse the original clips, because the pad doesn't ship with clips.

Then what is tha slot in the metal for that's right behind the clip towards the window?

The Classic Parts #30-952 dash pad retainer clip is one example of the aftermarket clips.

That slot you're questioning is not for the pad retainer.  It might be used for the factory center speaker mounting bracket(?).  You would never be able to engage the pad retainer in that tiny slot and have the pad sit down where it belongs.
