Difference in Fleetside/Wideside and Stepside/Fenderside?
« on: December 21, 2006, 11:17:00 pm »
Can anyone please tell me the difference between Fleetside/Wideside and Stepside/Fenderside?
(if there are distinguishing pictures they would also be appreciated if possible)
Out of all of the above mentioned I only know what a Stepside looks like, what are the other ones?

Thanks.

A fleetside has the same body lines contor as the cab, and stepside has a little step type thing in front of rounded fenders on a vertical sided cargo box.

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

I guess you could say that. I have been fooling around with these trucks since 86 and had never heard the terms wide side or fender side until a year or two ago in here.

The are the same terms.
GMC used Wideside and Fenderside, Chevy used Fleetside and Stepside.
