storing your caburetor when it's off your motor

What is the best way to store a Edelbrock carburetor when it's off a motor for a couple of month? I've recall someone saying to soak it in a bucket of gasoline to prevent the gummy residue of ethenol . Will this help or ruin the outside of the carburetor?  Thank you for your help!!

Clean it well, then use a lubricant spray-WD40 or such. A gallon ziploc works to help prevent dust from settling on it and keeps the lubricant from completely evaporating as well. At least that is what I do and it does pretty well.
