87 chevy 205 trans case no 4x4

The 4x4 shifter / transfer case was popping out of 4HI when I had pulled back into 4x4 I lost four wheel drive. Any thoughts? Thanks

Bad bearing, bent shift fork, bad poppet spring or a combination of the three.

Could be the   linkage
Between the lever and t case
