Can't select my drivers side fuel tank/1987 R10

1987 R10 Auto/trans, 350 V8 TBI

So I have checked and traced all wiring, and repairing anything that looked suspicious, have new fuel select switch and fuel select valve, and everything seems to be in place but only the passenger side fuel pump will kick on, does it if the fuel tank switch is on LH or RH side, passenger fuel pump is coming on.

pretty sure I found the problem.  I traced the ground wire from the switch to where it is grounded under the dash on the drivers side with 3 other grounds and corrosion and rust have took over.  So I will clean all this up and get new connections.  At first I didn't noticed the ground wire split off from the others coming off the switch, but after giving everything another look over, I found it.

I'm glad you worked it out.

One of these days I should check the wiring on mine too! :D

how did it work out for you?  my bus bar under the dash is clean as can be and my fuel gauge does not work nor does my tank switch.  only the left tank works.

once i get my temp guage and other cluster gauges going i plan to tackle this problem.

was it a ground issue?

yes it was the ground issue.  I would suggest pulling the bed off and inspecting wires and connections.  Makes it so much easier for this and trouble shooting.
