Just wondering what people have done about this. I have a '79 with the 2 3/4" rear shoes. The drums (I believe they are original) have a thick ridge around the outer edge of the face of the drum that has sections machined off for balancing.
The issue I'm having is the back of the wheel hits this raised part before the wheel seats, with about 1/4-3/8" gap left to go.
I went to the wrecker and looked at some drums. I grabbed a different style with welded weights and it still interfered but not as bad. This doesn't seem like it would be any problem with the 2" shoes+drums but I don't really want to swap that stuff.
Has anyone else run into this issue?
