Well my grandfather was a DOD employee and bought it from GSA as an old k10 base retrans como wagon in 91. Between the battery acid from per singr radios and the next 20 years of hauling fertilizer and farming supplies the bed area was in really bad shape. He passed in 2014 so I ended up with it. It was a staple in my early life and theyd get me from school in it if i was sick. So it being sentimental i refused to let die a slow death from cancer since it had a fresh 700r and 350 in it. So, i got an old SB LWB truck and originally planned to graft the rear of the cab and add a 4 foot box out of the truck bed. After that i ran into a barn door SB Burb and seen a post on expedition portal about a suburbicon a man out west was doing so after looking it over and a few beers later i measured things up.. Had a few more beers... Grabbed a 4in grinder and cut off wheel... Few more beers later and the back was gone. 13ins is what was best based on the fact i had to replace the whole rear pan and the body mounts lined up there (rear just mover up to the next hole in the frame). I left an extra half inch ran the seem with air flange tool. Held everything tight with ratchet straps turn the radio up and went to welding. The interior after that was all bed lined and 33s added. Then, sloppy body work, spray painted, and redid the seats. Still making the 5x10ish roof rack and rear bumper. Wife is now demanding a headliner. Few pix added. any questions let me know.
