Tire size on 17x8/9 w/ drop

Hello all,

Wondering if anyone has any experience with a tire sizes on a dropped 73-87.
77' C10 LWB fleet w/5" drop front (3" spindle + 2" spring) & flip kit rear.
Looking to run a 17x8" (4.5" BS) front & 17x9" (5" BS) Rear.

Tire sizing is becoming a headache. What is the max overall height (e.g. 29") and max width that I can run whilst still getting full suspension & steering movement.
To give a starting point, I was looking at 235/65R17 front & 255/60R17 rear but am concerned that the tires will look too skinny. Alternative sizes seem to be much lower profile but more width... hard to judge where to head..
Any help would be great!
