Cooling Water Pump

Hey Guys,
I'm redoing my cooling system and I would like to know if I should run an 6 vane water pump or an 8 vane? The engine is stock- a rebuild 305 030 over. The engine I hope will be out of there this yr.
and a 383 going in.
Thanks

I used a Stewart Stage One high flow iron water pump, since it was high flow and not much more than a stock pump. I never saw any specs on the number of vanes, but the pump seems to work really well.
