Bought a pair of bully steps put them in but can’t get to the other side because of gas tank can I drop it down just a bit to get the screws in the top or comes all the way out?

as far as i knew we couldnt mount step bars due to the tank(s). there was one style that would go past the tank then mount but there was nothing that i knew of that would work other wise.
