idle screws
« on: April 07, 2006, 09:23:00 pm »
I'm wanting to set my idle as best as possible. I have a few questions. I'm wanting to know how to set both idle screws(fast and curb) properly. I converted my hot air choke to a manual choke. I'm wanting both screws to function. Isn't the fast idle screw for when the engine is cold and the other screw by the throttle for when its warmed up? Do I set the fast idle screw on the cam or something to keep the rpm's high when engine is cold. Does the fast idle temperarly shut off when engine warms up? Then does the curb idle take over? Sorry for rambling. Thanks,

Nobody's replied because its too difficult to describe carb settings, because there are different settings for every carb. The best thing you can do is get yourself a Chiltons or Haynes repair manuel. It has settings and procedures.(how to)
