I have a 73 chevy short bed with a 383 stroker and a granny geared 4 speed. I want to put a corvette T56 tranny in its place. the motor is a 1987 I'm almost sure. Has anyone attempted this? I really need to know the flywheel thickness.

Just wanting to no..i have the 4 speed with the granny ...y do u want to swap it out ...with the granny gear i belive u could pull a house down....pull any thing out of the mud and pull a army tank thrue a key hole...? do u plan on racing?

yes, I do some racing. I think I'm might get a richmond 6 speed, so I do not have to add hydrolics.

where are you located Kaotic, if you decide to do it and you find the right tranny, I garauntee that I've got a buyer for the old tranny. S. central Florida.
