4X4 vs. 2X4 engine mounts?

Are the engine and trans mounted differently in a 4x4 vs. 2x4?

The engine crossmembers are different, and depending on transmission, the transmission crossmembers is also different.

The actual mounts (rubber filled mounts) should otherwise be the same 2wd to 4wd.

afaik 2wds mount before the tail shaft (part of the transmission body), while 4x4 mounts by the adapter plate where the tail shaft would normally be. BUT the 4x4 trans use the same body as the 4x2, so you can convert one over

I haven't measured exactly however the distributor seems to be in about the same distance from the firewall so I have to assume they are the same or at least very close to the same

im going with theyre the same also. as you know 2wd have a solid cross member while 4x4s only have perches but the top transmission bolts on the 2wd vs 4wd are still a pain to get to no matter when unless you have a body lift.
