What bulb do I need to use?

86 Chevrolet c10

My truck never had a bulb in the courtesy light under the dash.  Anyway yall can inform me on what bulb to use?

Look inside the socket.  If there is only one electrical contact centered within the base of the socket use bulb #1003.  If there are two electrical contacts at the base of the socket use bulb #1004.

IIRC correctly, an 1156 fits in there.  I think thats what I have in there, cuz I want it super bright.  I had this in all my trucks with no problems.  it will work but be super bright.
