dont know bout your wrecking yard situation down there but id stay clear of the aftermarket stuff, doors for sure. bought 2 fenders and 2 doors for my 78 last summer... they looked good till i tried to assemble them. out of the lot only 1 fender was of any use, the other had the inner and outer skins welded bout a 1/4 inch too far apart, as for the doors even tho they were capa certified not much of anything lined up for the guts inside including the weatherstrip channel. if your needing alot of parts best bet would be to buy a truck for parts

Hey Craig,

I have a list a mile long of needed parts so here goes...

Right now my 74 is a step side and I'll be needing the bedsides and tailgate. Unless I can find a good fleet side short bed, I'de rather go fleetside anyway. Do you know of any around here in decent condition? Also I can't find any junk yards that have my bedsides and Chevy Duty is about the cheapest at $350 each :eek .

Also need both doors and a hood.

I've been looking a Certifit because they are local and I have decent luck with their pannels, but have heard some horrible things form others.

Anyway any help would be greatly appreicated.

Thanks
Jerry

I was hooking up a phone the other day and the house nextdoor was a chevy junkyard. There were about 4 or 5 blazers in different stages of tear down and 3 or 4 trucks and a couple of suburbans, and a whole backyard full of "treasure". I didn't talk to the guy so I don't know his intentions with his stuff but I can tell you how to get there and you can check it out.
The house is in east mesa almost to AJ. Take University east towards the mountain and go past Sossoman rd. Turn south on 84th place and go down the street a little ways and trust me you can't miss it, all the trucks are in his front yard and driveway and it even spills out into the street. Good luck

Thanks for the help guys, I'll take a drive to the house on University. Almost forgot about AIM they dont have my bed parts but they might have the other stuff. Grumpys, Impala Bobs, and Ricks don't have any of my parts (already checked) and the junk yards are picked dry as far as beds. So if any of you guys run across a bed let me know.

thanks for all the help

Chris,
You have good deals on stuff. But to me its the shipping costs that make buying from online guys the deal breaker on some stuff. Compaired to the local resto guy where I can touch it check it out for damage and so on.

Same thing happened to me, went there and no awnser so I left my number last weekend. Still no call though, let me know if he calls you back.

Well i thought I found a bed out there on Lower Buckeye but went to look at it, it was in worse shape than mine. Guess I'm being too picky???? Thinking about just paying the shipping to get my stepside bedsides, maybe ill order my hood and doors at the same time to possibly save on some shipping. I dont mind shipping costs on the smaller parts, but when it gets this big it really adds up, oh well.

Thanks
Jerry

There is a bed off main and Sossaman in a fence in area its not a step side I think it was a full size. Is that what your looking for?
Remember Classic Indurstries is in Ca. A lot closer to get part shipped from?
