Auto to Manual swap

How hard would it be to swap a manual tranmission in to a truck that is an auto?

I have a parts truck that is factory manual but the sheetmetal is junk and I found a better truck.

Anyone swap out the old manual for a NV4500?

It's a lot of work.  Since you have a donor, you'll have the parts.  If column shift, replace the steering column.  If floor, cut a hole in floorboard.

All the linkages, pivot ball from engine block, bell housing, flywheel (resurface flywheel), clutch disc (new), pressure plate (new), throw out bearing (new), fork, pilot bearing (new), speedo cable from manual, etc...

Driveshaft will have to come from donor, ensure it fits the rear end.  Back up light switch will have to be moved from steering column and get the one from donor vehicle.  Hopefully you can match up the wires so that the reverse lights work.

Crossmember from donor vehicle.  Tranny mounts too (new).

Make sure your parking brake works well, you need that especially w/ standard tranny.

Take your cooling lines for auto tranny off radiator.

I forgot to mention that they both are 4x4 and long bed, I don't know if that  makes a diffrence?

You will have to do a bit more since you have manual linkage for the clutch, but that is pretty easy.
