'83 C10 Build
« on: May 20, 2020, 08:29:56 PM »

Hey guys,

I made the first major steps in my build last weekend.  I installed a 4/6 Belltech drop kit and C Notch with the street performance shocks, Cragar soft 8s 17x8 with 235/65/17 in front and 17x9 with 315/50/17 Mickey Thompson ET Street in the rear.  I also put in a new TCI Outlaw shifter and spent a lot of time fixing little issues the truck had from sitting for so long (Changed all the fluids, brakes and fixed some exhaust hangers).

The only real problem I ran into installing my drop kit was that the guy I bought the truck from swapped in a 12 bolt rear end and I believe a different drive shaft which was too long to begin with. So after I got the drop kit installed I had to have the drive shaft shortened. Other than that the kit was super easy to throw on.

I can't decide what is next.  The interior is pretty bad, needs new seats (Id like to put buckets in), dash, door panels, and glass.  Or if I am going to start buying all the parts for the turbo ls build/swap and just enjoy the truck like it is for the rest of the summer.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks! It’s turning out pretty good.

It’s has a mildly built big block.
