it's time to say bye... :(
« on: August 03, 2005, 08:42:00 pm »
i am parting ways with my truck. too much work time and money put into it, it's not really worth it anymore. but don't worry, i will be staying in the chevy truck line, with hopefully an 88-98 silverado (there is a 98 we are looking at right now for $3500). it's been fun though. i will always have a place in my heart for a 73-87 though.

maybe not, the one we were looking at is a manual, yes i know how to drive them, i just like autos better. so i might hold on to her for a little while longer...

i know i'll probably regret it, but now that i'll be saving a ton on gas, i'll be able to do more to my truck. of course this new truck will be shavn and slammed in no time too :D  i've always wanted an 88-98 style, and this one is too cheap to pass up.

in a few years when i get a steady good paying job, i'm going to buy another 73-87 to fix up as a cruiser while still having a daily driver.

What engine/trans does your new truck have? If it's a v8 your gas situation isn't going to improve that much. I had a 90 gmc 350 auto that sucked down just as much if not more than my carburated 350 auto 86 gmc did. Both had 700r4s and 3.73  gears. If you want this new truck I would suggest just having one project, especially if you're on a tight budget. One project is expensive enough. Good luck with whatever you decide. Just remember that vehicles are hardly ever a good investment. The money you spend on them has to be money you are willing to loose.

ahhhh i changed my mind!!

i am keeping my truck after all.

after lots of thinking, it would be cheaper and easier to put money into my truck instead of putting myself deeper in the hole with a new truck AND having to customize it.

man i am glad to hear you say that. OK so you want a 88-98 style, good lookin' trucks but everyone has them now a days see you have an 80 model Chevy not many around especially as in good as condition as yours and yours is customized. i mean you gotta clean, old school Chevy truck. i like my 87 because nobody else has one around here people have the 88-98 4x4s and Z71s or newer or they have Duramax's Powerstrokes or Cummins. they're all nice trucks but nobody has one like mine i'm different because of mine and i like being different. don't get me wrong there are more 73-87s than mine around here and some people sell them because thay wanna be like everybody else. thats just what i think. i don't have any intentions of selling mine.

glad to hear you're keeping your truck8) .....and a V6 wont yield any better fuel mileage.
