Hi all, haven't done much to the truck for a while so thought I'd have another go at setting up my carb, it's a Street Avenger of I think 670cfm the numbers on the upper body are 80670-1 and 1682.
The engine is a 383 crate engine which it came to me with but beyond that I don't have any build details, I think the heads are Vortec as the centre bolts of the inlet manifold are at an angle to the joint face with the heads, no idea what the cam is although there was a Crane Cams sticker on the slam panel until I painted it but just the California info.
I have an AFR gauge and have the idle set at around 13 at a 750 rpm idle with the engine warmed up until the electric fan cuts in.
Distributor is an MSD high energy coil in cap electronic unit with vacuum advance.
I have 75 jets in the primary which seem to give good AFR readings across the revs, you can see the power valve opening as the revs climb and AFR is 13 ish all the way.
This is all running light on my driveway as it's blocked in by our Moho just now so don't know what will happen when the secondaries chime in.
What size mains would you suggest as a starting point for the secondaries? I have a pair of 85s to go in or would another size be better?
What colour springs would you suggest to go in the secondary vacuum pot?
Transmission is auto TH400 which went in after the original TH350 went bad and would only drive in reverse!
Sorry it's a bit long winded but wanted to give all the information I could to help.
Many Thanks
Graham
