86 k10 blazer rocker panels

my rockers are rotted. Are they bad to replace with after market parts?? I can weld and pop rivet?? Or should I have a body man do it?? Anyone out there done it. The same with the tailgate repacement hinge mount.Thanks for any comments. Al from Mass.:rollin

Rockers are a kind of tricky little guys. If you don't have much body time under your belt I would send it to have it done. If the alignment or your measurement is of slightly then you have a new world of problems. But if you are stubborn and like a challenge then go for it. The parts are cheap and the fit is pretty nice but it does take quite a bit of fitting before you start welding. Ya really should stay away from pop rivets.
