Help! How do you take off the front hubs...
« on: February 18, 2004, 03:58:00 am »
...I need to replace some wheel studs and can't seem to get the hub off. I am assuming the whole assembly needs to come off to get to the back of the wheel studs.
I really hope so, cause I have the hubs off and the outer gear off, but can't seem to take the inner gear off either the spindle or it may be another gear. Looking at the teeth on this spindle or other gear, they are looking a little gnashed and that is why i can't seem to take the inner gear off around it. Sorry about not knowing the names of the parts. I hope someone here knows what I am talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Based on what you are trying to describe it appears you missed the other nut.  There is another nut in there that needs to be removed.  It takes a special socket to remove it.

It is called a Spindle Nut Wrench.  It looks like this:
