re-gearing my truck, 4wheelparts said i dont need to change my carrier??? it has 256 gears and im going to 456 this doesnt sound right 10 bolt/12 bolt anybody?????

Well, maybe they are going to send you a spacer, I personally don't like them, and won't use them.
10bolt carriers split at 2.56 & down / 2.76 & up.
12bolt trucks split at 2.73 & down / 2.76 to 3.42 / 3.73 & up
