new to the chevy forum, always been a jeep guy. needed a truck for work, im a electrician, an old timer said he had a friend with a chevy pickup for sale. went to look at it and he pointed out a 98 1500 in bad shape, i didnt want it, then his friend who owned came out and told me that was wrong truck, in the garage was a 1981 custom deluxe, 3 diffrent colors, then he explained he was rebuilding it, and started a 2 wheel drive truck instead of finishing, gave me a list of reciepts and told me work he had done, rebuilt 350 flat top pistons, mild lift cam, not sure of lift. hydraulic lifters, edelbrock intake and carb, dual exhaust, rebuilt 205 t case, axles taken off sent to a shop re geared new bearings cleand and painted, took body off blasted frame and painted, new brakes all around and a th350. front springs sagged and back was a set of 3/4 ton springs he had made by a local spring shop. new doors fenders and hood. i asked how much, 1800.00 i couldnt get to bank fast enough.
1800 for truck
400.00 for 4 inch lift
700.00 for 35*12.5*15 @#%$ cepeks
350.00 for gm hugger orange paint.
bunch of beers for my friend who owns body shop.
and he gave me 4 extra rallye wheels, caps and rings, spare t case and abunch of lens to replace ones on it.
lopst before pics but here is the after.
3500.00 total

Couldn't view the pics but sounds like a deal to me, congrats. Welcome from New Hampshire too.

Looks good from the pics. You should go buy some black spray paint and paint the inside of your wheelwells.

thanks, i reposted pics hope they, work. new hampshire, im in boston not too far. as far as the wheel wells, i am spraying bed coating tonite, got 1 layer on. and its 1230, so i am going to finish in morn. but i am going to spray wheelwells with coating as well, to get rid of overpray and make it  look a little cleaner. gotta get some more cash together and going to put some wheel spacers to give it a wider track and possibly some cut-out flares. and new bumpers as well. bumpers will be stock replacements. will post pics tommorow after bedliner is done.  heres a pick of engine, havent cleaned it yet

Very nice job.  Truck looks great!

Not sure why you images don't show up as freeimage hosting allows hot linking, but If you open them in another browser and then here again they will show.  I am wondering it they have a specific URL you have to hot link with.
