Turned on the headlights and something interesting happened.Temp. guage maxxed out,fuel guage went to empty,hi beam indicators came up blue,signal indicators lit up.

During the restoration- did you get another circuit board? It sounds like some of your circuit signals are wrong.

I've got an 87 steering column and fuse box with 76 wiring all grafted together.Everything was working fine when I checked individually,but they don't want to work at the same time.Must be power from the headlight switch going to ground????

That was my first thought. The fuel gauge going to empty indicates no signal to the gauge.

I reached up under the dash and found the wire harness loose.I hope the plastic clips aren't broken.

Slidin,yea,more like tranny slippin is more like it.
Little bit of surge/rev from 2nd to 3rd shift.
