how can i tell if my truck is a silverado, cheyenne, or what?

What do the fender emblems say?  How about the glovebox RPO sticker?

problem is that the truck came completley bare no stickers or identifiers on it at all

Those are trim levels so if the truck has none of the Silverado trim it will be impossible to tell if it was a Silverado originally.  Does it have anything in the glovebox?  RPO codes?

The VIN number I would think should say, no? Or does it not get that specific to include trim levels?

85 Chevy Silverado C10 short, wide, yellow, 2wd. Lowered, 60-over 350 with Dart Iron Eagle heads and Comp Cams XE268 cam, TH350 w/ shift kit, 3.40 Gov-lok 12 bolt.

VIN tag will not show the trim level.  Only the RPO code will show the trim level.
