Wiring Diagram
« on: July 19, 2006, 10:44:00 PM »
Does anybody have a link to a wiring diagram for our trucks? Preferably for the earlier trucks without an ecm.... Unless the main harness is the same for all.

And some sauce for my spagetti!!!!

I have access to Mitchell OD5. They have pretty decent wiring diagrams.

Wiring diagrams take a bunch of pages. It might be better to ask for a specific system diagram. And, of course, the yr of your truck.

Alright, on my 77 C-10 stepside the wires for the guages and choke were cut (prior to me) short and never hooked up in the five years that I've had it.

I simply just added guages and got a manual choke carb.

Recently I got a great deal on a holley spreadbore 650 with a electric choke. Can't beat free!! unless somebody gave you money to take it!!!

I found the three wires that had been tucked away in the harness so long ago and took a test light to them.

Green - coolant
Blue - oil
Tan - ???

They all read positive, but I need to know which one actually goes to the electric choke.

Thinkin about goin to the parts store for the coolant and oil sensors as well to get rid of the add on guages. I should have done this stuff years ago:rolleyes .

Tan could be the fuel gauge signal. When I was chasin mine down I kept thinking the blue was the oil pressure signal too, because it showed blue on the wiring schematic.. Then I found a tan wire down by the oil filter doin nothing- hooked it up to the oil pressure sender, and got the gauge to work!

Would somebody be willing to go check under their hood to see what color the wire is goin to their electric choke??
