Looking for C-30s
« on: August 01, 2006, 06:18:00 pm »
I'm a newb here, so take it easy on me.

Just wondering how many guys are on this site that have C-30's.  Specifically, lowered/bagged C-30's.  Just trying to see if I would fit in, or if this is more of a 1/2 ton site.

You are in the right place.   WELCOME!
This is a 73-87 for all.  1/2 ton and above.  If it is a fullsize C/K series from GM with the 73-87(91) bodystyle you're in the right spot.

Any particular rules or courtesys that I should be aware of?  Other than standard forum manners, of course.  I'd hate to be the offensive newb.

Just the normal stuff.  Treat others as you would like to be treated and you will be fine.

You and me both.

It seems like the only 2WD c-20s/ C-30's i can find are on used dealer lots and that's somewhat rare.

I've been looking for a non-crewcab 2wd c-30 or better yet c-20 for years.  Not seriously though.

i think 95% of all gm pickups sold were/are 1/2 tons.  So that doesn't make it any easier.

By the way, why would you want a C-30 that was "slammed?"  Seems like it would be easier to do it with a 1/2 ton.

Dude!  You've never seen a slammed C-30 crew cab dually?!  There awesome.  I had  one in High School (still have it, but she's WAY past her prime), but now I'm looking to build another one.

The're sweet.  Big, usually big block power, they will tow anything, go anywhere, plus you can comfortably fit 4-5 buddies.

Oh yeah, I'm a C-30 guy.

Yes, i have seen them.  That's too over-the-top for me.  People around here run them with one large pro-street tire on each side in the back instead of the duals.

i thought you were talking about regular cabs.

i tell you, you can pickup some cheap non-dually crewcabs on e-bay and then really pimp 'em up.

Not so much "gay," but a waste of a good tire.  Too over-the-top.  Too extreme (in a bad way).  You can tell they got money to burn that they probably inherited.

I think choo-choo customs made a version of the crew cab.  I was impressed by that.  Nice interior.

Stewart, my neighbor has a C30 that's been sittin in his yard for over a year.  I think it's an 84 . Brown and Tan. If you want me to ask him about it, I will. Middle Tennessee. @50  miles south of Nashville.

Is it a regular cab?  I don't want no crewcab now.

The important thing is that it's 2WD and i would prefer 350 gas, better yet diesel, but will consider other engines.

You can ask him about it, but being i'm 800 miles away, it may take awhile to finalize the deal etc.

It's a 2 wd, reg cab, gas engine. I'll find out more details and send you a pm  if he wants to sell it. You're right-800 miles is a long way to do a deal..

I'm a big fan of the dropped crew cabs I own three of them nothing like having a hot rod that you can load the family in and tow\ haul whatever
