Selling advice
« on: August 15, 2006, 11:49:00 am »
I am looking for some "selling advice" from readers. I need to sell my 1973 Stepside Shortbed (first year of this body style) and can't get a handle on what it might be worth. I bought it in CA in '99 with 75K miles and went through it inside and out. Today it's a weekend driver, has the straight six with some light performance mods (manifolds, carb and ignition) and a three-speed manual (on the floor).  I live in western NC and it has about 83K on it now. Can anyone suggest websites and/or pubs that might help me determine what I should be asking?

Thanks - Pt

YOu only put 8k on it in 7 years?? wow.

If it is a 73, which is becoming very desirable due to the fact there are no smog, EGR, cats, etc. on it and states are cracking down on post 73 trucks which are supposed to have all that on it.

If the body is good w/ no rust and everything on it works well, you can get over $5k for it if advertised well, and depending on the factors mentioned, you may get a few grand more than that depending on the location.  $5k is nothing for someone in Los Angeles but a great deal to someone in noname, Mississippi.
