Need info on AC components
« on: December 28, 2006, 03:05:00 pm »
Ok, I can turn the heater on in my truck, or the AC, and both blow either hot or cold.  My problem is that not much air blows from the vents.  When it hits the vents its cold, but in this Arizona summer, I won't get by with it.

What component in the truck should I check / replace so that my AC actually blows air out?

Also, when I turn the knob to adjust which vents it comes out of, it doesn't seem to change.  If I turn on my "defroster", it doesn't change which vents the air comes out of.

Any ideas?

Check you cable connections for the door flaps of the heater plenum / ac flaps. You gotta get down under the dash on your back and look up----or, i think you can take the glove box out and view the controls.

There might be a vacuum leak somewhere or a lack of vacuum. Most all of the doors in a A/C truck are controlled by Vacuum, The heat/Cold is a cable like Mr.Del said.there could be a bunch of chit stuck in there preventing to doors to open/close.I had some little friends living in one of my trucks and they jambed all kinds of stuff in there to make a home.I had to remove the blower motor and evict them. They had the blower fan all jambed up.You might check the cowl air inlet.
