Name is Jacob reside in Syracuse NY. 32yrs young. Married and first kid on the way. Just picked up my first GMC driver/project. Have been working with fords for years but always had a thing for those 80's short bed GM's. I am a realtor and work for one of the fed-up companies driving truck. I am an avid harley fan and am looking forward to having another truck project. Truck is an 83 GMC K-10 350ci, TH350 manual valve body/shift kit, 6" lift, 35's, High Sierra pkg. No rust, a few small dents. Front end conversion to later model 4 head light. Needs lots of little things. Somebody put a lot of money and time into it but didn't finish and I am picking up the pieces. Rock auto is an excellent and cheap source for a lot of stuff in these fyi. This site has already saved me a solid $100 in parts and hours of frustration so thanks! Will get some pics of the truck and the harley up here as soon as I figure out how. Can't wait to get this thing out on a trail this summer looking forward to getting to know you guys.

Jacob

Hello my name is Charles Affolter, I'm 28, Married with 3 boys and another baby on the way. I work for Basin Electric at Antelope Valley Station (Coal fired power plant) As a mechanic. I live in Hazen ND and I enjoy collecting antiques (gas, vehicle, signs, those sort of things) I own a 75 chevy, my first truck, a lot of parts trucks, but my main interest is a 1979 Gmc stepside short box four wheel drive that has the Street Coupe option. The only thing about it is that it doesn't have the hood emblem or the original paint. I'm hoping that someone out there has a street coupe also so I can maybe get some measurements or other information on the stripes so I can possibly have them reproduced. I plan on going back original on as much as I can. The paint is not a problem the hood emblem, body stripes and color matching (dye) might be though.... anyway hello everyone, and I look forward to being a part of this site.

Update, been a while, I have since found a couple of NOS hood ornaments, I have a set of stripe/decals that have been reproduced from originals, I have the interior color and the seat has been redone. I have collected basically all NOS parts for the rebuild. I have yet to find a NOS drivers side rear fender with the square fuel door, I have a NOS drivers side but it has no fuel door. I now just have to find the time to work on the truck....

Hey everybody, I am Nathan I'm from Northeast Arkansas, about 45 miles north of Memphis, TN. I am 38 been married for 12 years this summer and have 2 girls 6 and 2. I am currently rebuilding my 83 K10 with donations from an 89 K5. I have swapped in the 350 fuel injection engine which is stock except for a performer intake and power pulleys. It has 16x10 wheels and 285/75-16 tires. I am using a seat from a 94 silverado, the grille and headlights from the blazer and she will be red on top and black from the body line down. So it will be kind of a Johnny Cash special but I guess that is fitting since he is from here.

Hello! I'm Jim, I live about 30 minutes east of Cincinnati. Married, 4 kids, 3 of which are grown and on their own. I just got a 74 Chevy C-10, 350 w/ 63000 actual miles. It was a 3 on the tree, now it's a 3 on the floor. The body looks like heck, but runs great and floor boards and frame are in excellent shape. Looking to do alot to this truck, including updating to power brakes, HEI, and a 5 speed, plus endless amonts of new body parts, fenders, doors etc. Thanks all.
Yep, it does look like a dang pumpkin!

What's going on everybody! Brand new to the site this morning! Actually been surfing it for about two days now but just registered. My name is Chris and I've been in Colorado Springs since '94, Southern Oregon before that. I'm married to a wonderful woman and we have one little guy. I'm 33 and work in the telecommunictaions field. I bought a black '85 K10 in '93 (has it been that long???) and best I can tell I'm the third owner. I owned a '76 Toyota 2wd before that and used to joke in high school that my friend's Datsun B210 car could go futher off road than my Toy...and I wasn't lying! Used to off road (minor stuff) all the time in the Chevy! Then...it died :'( I used the truck for my job and the 305 lost a cylinder one day heading up to Denver. Shortly thereafter, the company I was with shut down and my kid was born. Suddenly the Chevy could no longer remain a priority and went into hibernation in my garage and driveway. It became known by my family as the flower pot after my wife stored potted plants in the bed of it >:(. Well, finally reached a point where I can start working on it again! Body is in good shape...no major rust. Could use some new paint. Interior, aside from being faded, is good. I've got a 350 to drop in it and am also hunting for an 87-newer 700R4 to install or use as a core to rebuild. Mine was already rebuilt once but I was never happy with it.

Great site guys...great posts and tons of info. Nice to meet you all!

My name is Lon Hammett. I just registered tonight but I have been looking around the site for a while. I'm 29, married and I have a 5 year old daughter, and live in Hazel Green Alabama. I have done everything from repair electric motors, rental equipment and fitness equipment. I took a summer off and went to welding school, but never pursued a career as a welder. I now repair copiers and I and hope I have finally found my "Door into Summer". I have always wanted a Chevy truck because my grandad always had one. His first was a 75-77 I'm not sure of the year, and his second was an 87. I learned to drive in the 87. I also own a 53 F*rd F-100, an Astro van that is my daily driver, and my wife drives a custom 99 S10. I have always been a gearhead, I have no other interests. I dont hunt fish or watch sports, if it isnt mechanized and loud I have no interest in it.

Evening all! :) :) Very new to this as I've just bought my first truck and to makes things worse I'm the wrong side of the big pond in England-UK!! If I ask silly questions please dont take the wee or be offended, I'm just learning!

Me- a young 36, divorced, no kids but looking to start soon with my new partner ;)

I enjoy most motorsport and recently retired from the UK full contact banger racing scene and needed to get my teeth into a new challenge hence the truck.

from all accounts its a GMC king cab lwb pick-up. 7.4 at the moment but looking to build something with a blower and put it on the semi-drag strip aiming for a 15second 1/4 mile. Not sure exactly what model I have as it got re-registered over here on a "Q" plate which means they're unsure of build date!

Hey all, i'm Josh from Mobile, Alabama. i'm currently living in Hooks, Texas (right outside of Texarkana), i'm 24 years old and married with 4 kids (one is mine, doesn't live with me, 3 are my step children...i haven't been THAT busy, lol). i just got out of the Army after 7 years and one overseas deployment (to Iraq) and i'm glad to be moving on with my life. my hobbies are off-roading, working on pretty much any car out there and just hanging out with friends (man, i do lead a lame life, huh?)

my truck is a 1983 GMC K1500 Sierra shortbed. she only has 77k original miles (i am the 3rd owner) and was an engineering oversight. the reason i say that is her drivetrain...a 305, 700R4 and 2.73 gears! i'm gonna guess the same "engineer" that thought the side-saddle fuel tanks was a good idea approved that combo too, lol. but nonetheless, i love her and plan on fixing her faults and modifying her to suit my tastes/needs (but she WON'T be hacked up)

this is my 11th C/K and i love 'em to death. in the past i've had the following...

-1979 Chevy C10 SWB Custom Deluxe (305, Th350, 2.76 gears...stop sign for a floorboard...fun truck!)
-1979 Chevy K30 LWB SRW Silverado (468, SM465, NP205, 4.10 gears...11" lift, 44" tires, locked front and rear...mint condition, FULLY loaded)
-1976 Chevy C10 SWB Silverado (350, Th350, 3.08 gears...some mods...ate 5.0's for breakfast)
-1975 Chevy K10 LWB Custom Deluxe (350, Th350, NP203, 3.08 gears...rough lookin but fun)
-1979 Chevy C10 LWB Custom Deluxe (327 from 63 Vette with Camel Hump heads, 3-on-the-tree, no power steering/power brakes, REALLY FUN)
-1974 Chevy C10 SWB Cheyenne Super (350, Th350, 3.73 gears...pretty truck...too bad it was broke more than it ran)
-1978 Chevy K20 SWB Custom Deluxe (originally a K10, 454, SM465, NP205, 14b rear, D44 front...11" lift, 38" tires)
-1987 Chevy K10 LWB (262, 700R4, no gears...parts truck, lol)
-1986 Chevy K5 Blazer (wanted one so bad, bought this one in shambles...never got it together)
-1976 GMC K25 SSWB (super short wheelbase, it was on a Blazer frame, was just a cab and flatbed...D44 F, 14b R, 350, Th350, NP205...)

1991 Chevy Silverado K1500 ECSB, 350, 700R4 w/shift kit, 3.42's, exhaust work...
1983 GMC Sierra K1500 SWB-sold :(
